Shabbat Alive! Reform Community Shabbat at
Temple Beth Shalom (Fri. Jan. 12, Sat. Jan. 13)
Get ready for an entire weekend filled with music, prayer, movement, joy, and fun! Rabbi Paul Yedwab, our guest leader, speaker and scholar, will guide us through a Shabbat worship experience different from any other, starting on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 8 pm.
Inspired by the Shabbat Unplugged musical worship enjoyed by congregations throughout the country, Friday evening will feature singing, instrumental music and prayer; local musicians and multimedia will make Shabbat come alive. Following that, on Saturday, January 13, 2007 from 10 am to noon, Rabbi Yedwab will lead us in Joga, a Jewish take on yoga that mixes movement with spiritual enlightenment. Wear comfortable clothes. You do not need a yoga mat or any other equipment.
Rabbi Yedwab is the spiritual leader of Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield, Michigan, the congregation he has served since his 1986
ordination from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
He is a graduate of Princeton University with a degree in politics. He
has published five books: The Alef-Bet of Blessing; Learn Hebrew Today;
