Columbus Jewish Federation Campership Incentive
Program (Due Tue. Apr. 1)
The Columbus Jewish Federation Campership Incentive Program
was created in consultation with the Foundation for Jewish Camping and
support from The Columbus Jewish Foundation for the singular purpose of
increasing the number of children benefiting from the transformative
experience of Jewish summer camp. It is specifically geared towards
children who lack daily exposure to Jewish education. The program
provides financial incentives to Jewish families in Columbus sending
their child(ren) to a Jewish summer camp for the first or second
summer. Grants are available to any Jewish child aged 8–16 who lives in
the Central Ohio area, who has either never attended Jewish overnight
camp for three or more consecutive weeks or has done so only once.
Multiple children from a single family are eligible to receive separate
grants and will be considered separate grantees.
The program provides gifts of $1,250 to first year campers,
and for the summer of 2008 only, $750 to second year returning campers.
A grant from the Campership Program is not need-based or contingent on
other scholarship or financial aid dollars. Any questions with respect
to the program should be directed to Nancy Rosen at nrosen@tcjf.org.

Friendly Faces Wanted!
Welcome back to the Shabbat Greeter program. We are looking
for
friendly faces to volunteer to hand out prayer books and welcome
members for Friday night services. You can volunteer once or multiple
times over the course of the year; whichever works best for you! Sign
up with a friend or family member. This is an easy way to get involved
and meet fellow congregation members. Please contact Lynn Dobb at ldobb@columbus.rr.com or
895-7917 or Trina Moffat at tmoffat@tbsohio.org
or 855-4882 if you would like to participate. We look forward to seeing
your friendly faces!
Talmud Torah Mitkadem Materials for Home Use
Available
We are using a new Hebrew prayer program called Mitkadem. Part
of the program’s success comes from the fact that students are able to
work through each level, called a Ramah, at their own pace. Given that
all Mitkadem activities are designed to be self-instructing, they can
be easily worked on at home. In response to parent requests for ways in
which their children can reinforce their Hebrew studies at home, we are
offing an optional home-based component to the Mitkadem Hebrew Program.
If you are interested, you and your child can sign up to receive copies
of Mitkadem materials for use at home. Details and an order form are
available at http://www.tbsohio.org/eWindow/MitkademHomeHebrewMaterialsOrderForm.pdf.
